Trista, a seasoned social worker and counsellor with 20 years of international experience, welcomes you to embark on a journey of self-discovery with her. Her extensive knowledge in human development, psychology, interpersonal dynamics, mental health, trauma, and addiction forms the basis of her trauma-informed and person-centered approach. With a worldly perspective gained from travelling to 75 countries and volunteering in 10 countries, she fosters a better understanding of diverse races, religions and cultures. Trista's dedication to mindfulness and meditation took her to over 10 countries for nearly two years, where she was inspired to develop a distinctive and holistic counselling style. She excels at integrating mindfulness with various psychotherapies such as Attachment-based interventions, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic, Satir Model and Somatic Experiencing through a trauma-informed lens to protect clients from being retraumatized during the counselling process.

Trista’s varied counselling experience encompasses employment in both private counseling centers, integrated family services centers, psychiatric clinics, and youth institutions. She has also provided support to individuals facing physical and mental health challenges in India and worked with teachers and orphans in Malawi. This rich experience further enriches her holistic counseling approach. Trista specializes in guiding individuals through the healing process for trauma, mental health issues, and grief, with the ultimate goal of helping them regain momentum and lead meaningful, thriving lives. She is equally adept at navigating challenges in family, marriage, and parenting by delving into individuals' personal and family members' growth journeys and considering the influences stemming from their respective family backgrounds. This process fosters self-reflection and leads to subtle enhancements in their family, marital, and parent-child relationships.

Trista's unique blend of expertise and her global-local perspective ensures that your counseling experience will be profoundly personalized and culturally sensitive. With Trista as your guide, you will find a compassionate and skilled ally to help you overcome life's hurdles and enhance your overall well-being. She conducts counselling sessions in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
