Life transitions and expectations can be overwhelming. Maybe you are wearing many hats and feel like you have lost yourself balancing everyone else's needs. Or perhaps the losses you have faced are feeling so heavy that it feels almost impossible to take the next step.
As a trauma focused and relational therapist, Marggie’s goal is to help you feel empowered and in control of your life, to reduce the impact of all the losses you have faced, and to help you lead a life that feels meaningful. While we cannot change the difficult situations of your past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges in your life and minimize the hold they have on your present. Marggie strongly believes in the therapeutic relationship and consider it an honour to walk with you on your unique journey towards wellness.
Marggie has a Master's in Clinical Social Work and over a decade of experience supporting people from all ages and diverse backgrounds that face challenges in physical health, mental health or behaviours. Her experience includes supporting first and second-generation immigrants and mixed-raced individuals from a cross-cultural lens that addresses Identity, belonging, and intergenerational healing.
Marggie specializes in the following areas: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD abuse, navigating race and cultural identities, crisis and life transitions such as the death of a loved one, separation and divorce, loss and grief, self-esteem and body image, prenatal / postpartum Issues, infertility, pregnancy and infant loss. Marggie offers a holistic approach to mental well-being and draws from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment theory, Narrative, mindfulness practices, Dialectical behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Gottman Method for couples.
Marggie offers online sessions in English and Spanish for Alberta and Ontario residents. In-person sessions available in Cochrane, Alberta
